It also has a slight stretch in its width. Overall, this kind of velvet is smoother, thicker, and tougher in its flexible backing than your normal velvet fabric. Machine-wash warm or cold, tumble dry. Pull straight from the dryer to prevent wrinkles, or iron while damp. Prewash cotton fabrics before cutting out your pattern.
